½ tablespoon garlic powder 4 ounces Treasure Cave Crumbled Blue Cheese
Gravy
4 tablespoons cornstarch 4 cups beef broth
4 tablespoons shoyu (soy sauce)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons ketchup
Salt and pepper to taste 2 cups cooked white rice 4 eggs Green onion for garnish
Directions
Combine the ground beef, pepper, garlic powder and Treasure Cave Crumbled Blue Cheese in a large bowl.
Form 4 large patties and set aside.
In another bowl, add cornstarch, beef broth, shoyu, Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Mix well and set aside.
Lightly salt the patties before cooking them in a pan over medium-high heat.
Cook for about 5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired internal temperature, then remove them from the pan. Hold these in a warm oven until it's time to plate.
Add gravy mixture to the pan and cook until it's nice, thick and brown. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
Fry eggs in a pan until the whites are set. Loco moco is traditionally served with sunny-side-up eggs but prepare them however you like.
Add a generous scoop of rice to a plate and top with a burger patty. Add gravy, top it with an egg and garnish it with cut green onion. A local favorite is to request “Gravy all ova,” so the loco moco will get a second pour of gravy on top of the egg and mac salad.
