In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt butter. Then add sliced onion and stir with a spatula until all the slices are coated in butter. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until onions are caramelized.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, Treasure Cave Crumbled Gorgonzola Cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder and fontina cheese. Then fold in the caramelized onions. It’s not going to be perfectly smooth yet and that’s OK; you’ll give it a mix after baking. You can leave some of the Treasure Cave Crumbled Gorgonzola Cheese out to garnish the dip with later.
Transfer mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until it’s heated through and starting to bubble.
Remove dip from oven, mix it gently with a spoon, then top with the diced bacon, pear and chives.
